Purpose of the Role Operating within a highly regulated environment, this role carries clear and uncompromising accountability for ensuring that recruitment & selection processes are inclusive, robust, innovative, and fully compliant with statutory, regulatory, and policy‑based obligations, including those mandated under Irish employment legislation. A core focus of the role is the delivery of a consistently positive, transparent, and respectful candidate and customer experience that reflects An Garda Síochána's values at every stage.

Reporting directly to the Director of Talent Acquisition, this role will lead a team responsible for delivering high‑quality recruitment while also shaping the future of how An Garda Síochána attracts, engages, and selects talent.

Essential Criteria:

  • The successful candidate must have a third-level qualification (minimum Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications) in a relevant discipline(s) commensurate with the role.

AND

Relevant management experience at an appropriate level (minimum 3 years), including leading Talent Acquisition teams and managing resources, with demonstrable experience in in‑house recruitment, which must include:

  • Leading, developing, and shaping a high‑performing Talent Acquisition team operating in a busy, complex environment, ensuring the delivery of consistent, high‑quality recruitment outcomes.
  • Project managing and directing the delivery of multiple high‑volume and specialist recruitment campaigns in a complex, high‑demand environment, ensuring strong processes, governance, and delivery aligned to key performance indicators.
  • Developing and embedding a modern, agile, and user‑focused recruitment model that prioritises candidate experience while fully meeting governance, audit, and legislative requirements.
  • Building trusting relationships with a diverse range of internal stakeholders to drive shared understanding, resolve issues, and deliver consistent, high‑quality recruitment outcomes.
  • Managing relationships with external partners, contracts, and vendors to ensure high‑quality, compliant, and value‑for‑money service delivery.
  • Using and optimising recruitment tools and technologies, including applicant tracking systems and digital sourcing platforms.
