Staff Nurse - High Dependency Unit (HDU) - Dublin

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Staff Nurse - High Dependency Unit (HDU) to join a leading private acute hospital setting in Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and clinically skilled nurse to join a dynamic critical care team providing high-quality care to patients requiring close monitoring and enhanced nursing support.

The successful candidate will work within a fast-paced, highly supportive environment, delivering safe and effective care to a diverse patient cohort with a range of acute and complex medical needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients within the High Dependency Unit
  • Closely monitor and assess patients requiring enhanced observation and clinical support
  • Manage and respond to changes in patient condition in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Administer medications and treatments in line with hospital protocols and NMBI guidelines
  • Support airway management, oxygen therapy, and non-invasive monitoring as required
  • Collaborate closely with ICU, medical, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control standards at all times
  • Provide emotional support to patients and families in a high-acuity setting
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of HDU services

Requirements

  • Registered General Nurse with active NMBI registration
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience in acute care, HDU, ICU, or emergency settings preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Experience in monitoring acutely unwell patients
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong commitment to patient safety and quality care

Eligibility

  • Stamp 4 or EU Passport holders only at this stage
  • Must have full eligibility to work in Ireland without sponsorship
