Staff Nurse - Oncology (Palliative Care / SACT) - Dublin
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Oncology Staff Nurse with experience or interest in Palliative Care and/or Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) to join a leading private acute hospital setting in Dublin.
This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and clinically skilled nurse to join a specialist oncology team delivering high-quality patient-centred care within a supportive and progressive environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary oncology teams to provide holistic care to patients undergoing cancer treatment and supportive therapies.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to oncology patients in line with best clinical practice
- Administer and monitor Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) treatments safely and effectively
- Provide compassionate palliative and supportive care to patients with complex needs
- Monitor patients for treatment side effects and escalate concerns appropriately
- Educate and support patients and families throughout their treatment journey
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with hospital policies and NMBI guidelines
- Collaborate closely with oncologists, pharmacists, palliative care teams, and multidisciplinary staff
- Ensure adherence to medication safety, infection prevention, and chemotherapy handling protocols
- Participate in patient assessments, care planning, and discharge coordination
- Provide emotional support and advocacy for patients and families
Requirements
- Registered General Nurse with active NMBI registration
- Minimum 1-2 years' acute hospital nursing experience preferred
- Previous Oncology, SACT, Haematology, or Palliative Care experience desirable
- SACT/chemotherapy administration certification desirable but not essential
- Strong communication, empathy, and patient-centred care skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
Eligibility
- Stamp 4 or EU Passport holders only at this stage
- Must have full eligibility to work in Ireland without sponsorship
