Staff Nurse - Oncology (Palliative Care / SACT) - Dublin

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Oncology Staff Nurse with experience or interest in Palliative Care and/or Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) to join a leading private acute hospital setting in Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and clinically skilled nurse to join a specialist oncology team delivering high-quality patient-centred care within a supportive and progressive environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary oncology teams to provide holistic care to patients undergoing cancer treatment and supportive therapies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to oncology patients in line with best clinical practice
  • Administer and monitor Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) treatments safely and effectively
  • Provide compassionate palliative and supportive care to patients with complex needs
  • Monitor patients for treatment side effects and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Educate and support patients and families throughout their treatment journey
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with hospital policies and NMBI guidelines
  • Collaborate closely with oncologists, pharmacists, palliative care teams, and multidisciplinary staff
  • Ensure adherence to medication safety, infection prevention, and chemotherapy handling protocols
  • Participate in patient assessments, care planning, and discharge coordination
  • Provide emotional support and advocacy for patients and families

Requirements

  • Registered General Nurse with active NMBI registration
  • Minimum 1-2 years' acute hospital nursing experience preferred
  • Previous Oncology, SACT, Haematology, or Palliative Care experience desirable
  • SACT/chemotherapy administration certification desirable but not essential
  • Strong communication, empathy, and patient-centred care skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills

Eligibility

  • Stamp 4 or EU Passport holders only at this stage
  • Must have full eligibility to work in Ireland without sponsorship
