Staff Nurse - Theatre (Scrub / Anaesthetic) - Dublin

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Staff Nurse - Theatre (Scrub / Anaesthetic) to join a leading private acute hospital setting in Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Theatre Nurse to join a dynamic perioperative team working across a broad range of surgical specialties in a modern, well-equipped theatre environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality patient care throughout the perioperative journey, supporting both scrub and anaesthetic duties within a fast-paced surgical setting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe and effective perioperative nursing care in Scrub and/or Anaesthetic roles
  • Assist in a wide range of surgical procedures including orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, gynaecology, ENT, and more
  • Prepare operating theatres prior to procedures, ensuring all equipment and instruments are checked and ready for use
  • Maintain strict adherence to infection prevention and control standards at all times
  • Monitor patient safety throughout all phases of perioperative care
  • Assist the anaesthetist with patient preparation, positioning, airway support, and monitoring
  • Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, ODPs, and multidisciplinary theatre teams
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in line with hospital and NMBI standards
  • Support stock control, instrument tracking, and theatre efficiency processes
  • Maintain a calm and professional approach in a high-pressure environment

Requirements

  • Registered General Nurse with active NMBI registration
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience in a Theatre setting (Scrub or Anaesthetic essential)
  • Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices and infection control standards
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operating theatre environment
  • Strong attention to detail and patient safety focus

Eligibility

  • Stamp 4 or EU Passport holders only at this time
  • Must have full eligibility to work in Ireland without sponsorship
