Overview

A leading acute healthcare provider is seeking an experienced Staff Nurse to join a newly developed Neuro Interventional Radiology (IR) service opening in 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly specialised environment supporting minimally invasive neurovascular procedures and delivering exceptional patient care.

The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing care before, during, and after neuro interventional procedures including cerebral angiograms, aneurysm coiling, and carotid stenting.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with neuro interventional radiology procedures, including induction of anaesthesia
• Perform admission, discharge, and transfer procedures
• Conduct neurological and haemodynamic assessments
• Respond effectively to neurovascular emergencies
• Administer medications in line with hospital policies and professional guidelines
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation
• Collaborate closely with radiology and neurosurgical teams
• Support quality improvement initiatives and accreditation processes
• Participate in ongoing education and specialist training
• Supervise and support junior nursing staff where required
• Ensure safe use and maintenance of clinical equipment
• Participate in rostered shifts including weekends and on-call requirements

Requirements

Essential

• Registered General Nurse with active NMBI registration
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Minimum 3 years' acute hospital experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Flexibility regarding rostering and service needs

Desirable

• Experience in Neuro Interventional Radiology or a related specialised area
• Knowledge of current developments within acute nursing care
• Experience participating in quality improvement projects
