HR Assistant (Temporary Maternity Cover - 12 Months)
Location: Newry
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum
Working Pattern: 4-Day Working Week (choice of Tuesday or Wednesday off)
Hours: 8:00am - 5:30pm

The Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Assistant to join a busy and supportive HR team on a 12-month maternity cover contract.
The successful candidate will support the HR Manager across a range of HR activities, helping to deliver an efficient and professional HR service while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and review of HR policies and procedures.
- Provide HR support throughout the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, attendance management, performance management and employee engagement.
- Maintain accurate HR records, databases and personnel files.
- Ensure confidentiality and GDPR compliance at all times.
- Assist with payroll administration and employee timekeeping records.
- Support the handling of employee queries, disciplinary matters and grievances.
- Coordinate training and development activities.
- Assist with HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build positive working relationships across the business.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an HR Assistant or HR Support role.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation.
- Excellent administration, organisation and communication skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to build effective working relationships across all levels.
- Flexibility to travel between company locations when required.
Desirable Criteria
- CIPD qualified or currently working towards a CIPD qualification.
