About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing to support the delivery of high-quality care within a nursing home environment. This Assistant Director of Nursing role would suit a qualified nurse with strong leadership, organisational and people management skills. The Assistant Director of Nursing will support the Director of Nursing in the day-to-day management of nursing services and staff.

Key Duties:

• Support the Director of Nursing in the management and development of nursing services
• Deputise for the Director of Nursing when required
• Manage staff allocation, deployment, and rostering
• Provide leadership, guidance and support to nursing and allied staff
• Participate in recruitment, induction, training, and staff development activities
• Monitor patient care standards, policies, procedures, and quality initiatives
• Manage complaints, staff grievances, and disciplinary matters appropriately

Essential Criteria:

• Qualified Nurse with at least 3 years' management experience within care of the older person services in the last 6 years
• Post registration management qualification in health or a related field
• Thorough knowledge of HIQA standards, regulations, and governance within a nursing home setting
• Proven track record in management

Desirable Criteria:

• Qualification in Gerontology and/or Dementia
