Job Title: Staff Nurse

Department: Intensive Care Unit

Reports to: Nurse Manager

The role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of Ireland long established private acute hospitals based in Dublin.

You will be working as part of the ICU nursing team and with the multidisciplinary team in the delivery of quality and patient centred nursing care.

We are interested in receiving applications from qualified Staff Nurses in the areas of Cardiothoracic who have primarily worked in critical care acute settings.

Essential Criteria:

  • Must be registered on the general division of the register of nurses maintained by the NMBI.
  • 1-year Critical Care experience is essential for this role.
  • Displays effective communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrates evidence of effective planning, organising and time management, is a team player and demonstrate evidence of recent and relevant experience in the specialised area and in an acute hospital setting.

Key Duties:

  • A care plan and evaluation process are planned and implemented.
  • The patient's families and significant others are involved as appropriate.
  • Patients are cared for in the optimum clinical environment, adhering to all nursing and hospital wide policies and guidelines.
  • Full nursing participation in and supervision of patient's meal and special dietary requirements.
  • Delegation is appropriate to the skill level and knowledge of the individual to whom the task is delegated.
  • Documentation is recorded in a professional, legible and timely fashion.
  • Notify appropriate nursing and medical staff to changes in the patient's status.
  • Independently perform duties and assume responsibility for care of assigned patients.
  • Perform techniques and routines in the specialty service area.
  • Perform or assist others to perform proper aseptic techniques, isolation procedures, and infection control measures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
