Trainee Tax Accountant

Our client is a top-tier Accountancy practice based in the heart of Belfast and is currently looking to recruit a Trainee Tax Accountant to their growing team! This is a great opportunity for an excellent graduate or someone with previous experience within a finance role looking to specialize in the area. The successful applicant will mainly assist in the preparation of VAT returns, corporation, and individual tax returns.

Responsibilities

• Regularly interacting with clients through phone, email, and in-person meetings
• Preparing corporation and individual tax returns
• Drafting VAT returns
• Supporting advisory projects
• Opportunities to participate in transactional work i.e. M&A and complex tax consulting
• Assisting with various projects and offering support across different business areas

Essential Criteria

• Degree qualification, ideally in a numerate subject or discipline demonstrating your analytical skills
• Strong numerical ability
• Analytical skills and critical thinking
• Proficient IT skills in MS Office and Excel
• Confident in communication
• Relevant experience in a practice environment highly desirable
