Salary: €65,818 per annum, non-negotiable

Duration: Permanent, Full Time

Hours of work: 35 hours per week between 7am - 7pm, Monday to Friday

Location: Dublin

THE ROLE!!!

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic organisation and be part of a multidisciplinary team that provides direct services to vulnerable people who have been in direct contact with the use of drugs and suffer from drug addictions.

The purpose of the Nursing Services Manager role is to support the Director of Services in the timely, effective, and efficient delivery of nursing services and associated functions to ensure that safe and effective care is provided to service users, which meets their needs.

A key function of this role will be to provide clinical leadership and management to the Senior Management and Nursing Teams and time must be planned for and allocated to this. The post will have some, limited, face to face clinical duties appropriate to the role.

The base location for this role will be in one of provider's established buildings in Dublin. The Nursing Services Manager will be expected to travel to other site locations for in person meetings and to regularly engage with the nursing team members, other senior management team members, Director of Services and Services Manager.

We are interested in receiving applications from applicants who are fully registered with NMBI and have overall experience in a supervisory role within the healthcare and social care.

Key Duties:

  • To line manage and supervise designated nursing staff.
  • Participate in the development of the service plan and in the monitoring and review of activity against the plans.
  • Problem solve and generate options and solutions for the nursing team.
  • Ensure compliance with the relevant HIQA regulations and ensure they maintain informed and knowledgeable of the regulatory environment.
  • Oversee nursing clinical caseloads and manage accordingly in terms of equitable allocation in line with capacity and clinical capability.
  • Provide a high level of professional and clinical leadership.
  • Oversee a team of CNM and nursing staff to provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to clients in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland guidelines, legislative requirements, HSE regional and local operational procedures.
  • Deliver some limited clinical work as directed by the Director of Services and in line with the expertise of the Nursing Services Manager role.
  • Provide support/advice to relevant staff engaging in continuous professional development in their area of responsibility.
  • Carry out duties to ensure the control of expenditure within budget under the guidance of the Director of Services.
  • Ensure that agreed financial records are maintained to agreed policy guidelines and shared with the Finance/Facilities team.
  • Maintain stock in line with policy.
  • Ensure that Fire Safety protocols are adhered to.

Essential Criteria:

  • Must be eligible to work in Ireland, no sponsorship is offered for this role.
  • Must be registered as a registered nurse with An Bord Altranais/NMBI
  • 5 years post registration general nursing experience would be desirable)
  • A minimum of 2-3 years in a management or supervisory role in health or social care would also be desirable but not essential.
  • Must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the position and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
  • Must have proven clinical and professional managerial abilities, including leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive approach to engaging with others.
  • Must have the ability to act calmly in emergencies and respond in a professional manner to challenging and stressful situations.
  • Have the requisite level of clinical leadership, managerial, organisational, and administrative knowledge, and ability to properly discharge the duties associated with the post.
  • Knowledge of HIQA standards and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • A commitment to and participation in Continuous Professional Development
