Job Title: Nurse Manager

Job Summary: The Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing all regulatory and compliance requirements in relation to the supply of nurses and healthcare support workers in N. Ireland and the Republic of Ireland across both Private and Public sector bodies. The Nurse Manager will oversee clinical governance and quality assurance to meet the highest standards of practice and service delivery.

Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £45-50k (DOE)

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory and Compliance:

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and policies in line with RQIA and Health and Social Care requirements.
  • Drive and support continuous quality improvement within Staffline Healthcare.
  • Review key processes and quality management systems regularly.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to address compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure all recruitment and supply documentation meets legislative requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Perform extensive vetting of nursing professionals, including right to work checks, identification verification, qualification and professional registration checks, permits and visas, medical certificates, AccessNI, and Garda Vetting.
  • Comply with General Data Protection, Safeguarding, Professional Standards, Nursing Agencies Regulations, and the Employment Agency Act.
  • Participate actively in RQIA/HIQA and EAI audits and inspections.
  • Support company ISO accreditation audits as required.

Candidate Management:

  • Assist Healthcare Recruitment teams with pre-screening and registering candidates according to professional registrations and compliance requirements.
  • Provide advice and support to candidates regarding application requirements or role-specific questions.
  • Ensure candidates are fully informed of their progress at all verification stages.

Client Management:

  • Identify client needs and provide regular feedback on service quality.
  • Support Recruitment Consultants with vetting and compliance-related queries.
  • Maintain and update client records via the CRM system, presenting progress reports weekly to the Managing Director.
  • Network with clients and stakeholders to build and protect trustful relationships.
  • Support the submission of tenders and represent the business as a healthcare subject matter expert.

Team Support:

  • Assist Recruitment Consultants in matching nurses and healthcare professionals to appropriate roles and clients.
  • Develop and deliver training on vetting processes and compliance requirements.
  • Provide support and mentorship to staff on healthcare compliance matters.
  • Monitor and report management information to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Work with management to develop healthcare strategies.

General:

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • An experienced nurse with a minimum of 3 years of compliance and regulatory responsibilities in recruiting nurses and healthcare workers in Northern Ireland.
  • Minimum registered nurse (RGN) and currently live on the NMC or NMBI register. Must be RQIA conversant.
  • Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Effective planning and organising abilities.
  • Accountability and personal responsibility for actions.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Resilience under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility in approach to working patterns.
  • Initiative and willingness to go the extra mile for outstanding service.
  • Full clean driving license or access to transport as travel is required.

Desirable:

  • Experience in healthcare recruitment in the Republic of Ireland and internationally.
  • HIQA conversant.
  • Experience of international medical recruitment.
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs required, with a third-level qualification or Registered Nurse (RGN) being advantageous.
  • REC Level 3 Certificate in Recruitment Practice.
