Do you like to work with patients and in different ward settings? We have excellent opportunities with the NHSCT, based in Co Antrim and Co Londonderry as a Band 5 Registered Nurse.

As a Nurse, you will help provide support for the Northern Trust in various wards whilst delivering first-class care. You will have the opportunity to participate in training which will enable you to acquire these skills. You will be provided with the best tools and resources to exceed with the patients and enable you to provide them with a truly remarkable nurse experience.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • You will participate in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individual patient care based on the Nursing Process method.
  • You will ensure all patients receive care as identified in their care plans.
  • Oversee nursing procedures and treatments, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and legible patient records, adhering to confidentiality standards.
  • Participate in meal service and coordinate patient's meals/special diets when required.
  • Organise patient reception, discharge, and aftercare in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Maintain open communication with patient's relatives, providing support when necessary.
  • Participate in teaching learners and ensure learner objectives are met in line with national requirements.
  • Supervise junior nursing staff and nursing auxiliaries.
  • Contribute to research and trials of new equipment.
  • You will participate in the orientation and induction of new staff and in the development of good interpersonal relationships.
  • Liaise with all departments within the hospital and Unit of Management.
  • You will participate in regular and systematic staff development and performance review.
  • Attends courses and study days to promote professional development. Submits written evaluation to the Senior Nurse Manager upon return from the course.
  • Also, you will consult the Senior Nurse Manager regarding problems at ward level in the absence of Ward Sister.

WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU:

  • Live NMC registration with a minimum of 6 months post qualifying experience.

  • A minimum of 6 months post qualifying experience
  • Post registration qualifications relevant to Nursing
