Clinical Nurse/Midwife Manager 2 (CN/MM2) - Infection Prevention and Control

Salary - Highly Negotiable

Permanent - Full Time

The Role

The Clinical Nurse/Midwife Manager 2 in Infection Prevention and Control is a member of the Senior Midwifery Management Team who is responsible for promotion, coordination and facilitation of infection prevention and control practices / surgical site surveillance and wound care.

The CN/MM 2 in Infection Prevention and Control works closely with all departments to ensure that the National Standards for the Prevention and Control of Healthcare associated infections are fulfilled (HIQA).

The successful candidate will have:

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential Criteria:

  • Registered Nurse or Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or eligible for registration
  • Have a minimum of 5 years comprehensive clinical experience to include midwifery, nursing, and managerial competencies
  • Have a sound knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control standards/KPIs and issues in an acute hospital setting with particular knowledge of the unique challenges in maternity and neonatal clinical settings
  • Willing to undertake appropriate postgraduate education relevant to the role

Desired:

  • Higher Diploma in Infection, Prevention and Control or equivalent

Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to communicate effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrable experience at managing a team and workload
  • Evidence of commitment to ongoing professional development, training, and research
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Ability to resolve conflicts.
