Salary: From €59,909.06 per year

Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing to join our nursing home team in Portlaoise. This is an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in a dynamic and forward-thinking environment that offers great support.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct internal audits and follow up on results.
• Oversee the initial induction of staff and provide ongoing training and development.
• Encourage innovative practices within the team.
• Ensure adherence to company standards and HIQA guidelines.
• Hold regular communication meetings with all clinical staff.
• Establish rapport with external community agencies to facilitate resident involvement in local activities.
• Collaborate with Marketing to enhance the home's profile in the community.
• Implement Company Health and Safety Policies to safeguard staff and residents.
• Conduct regular fire training and evacuation drills.
• Maintain the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness within the home.
• Implement a preventative maintenance program.
• Participate in staff selection and interviewing processes.
• Conduct regular training needs analysis.
• Provide coverage for the Director of Nursing as needed.
• Ensure clinical practices meet regulatory standards.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:

• Qualified Nurse with at least 3 years of management experience in the care of older persons within the last 6 years.
• Post-registration management qualification in health or a related field.
• Proven track record in healthcare clinical management.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong decision-making abilities and results-driven mindset.
• Ability to foster a team environment.
• Willingness to be flexible and adapt to company needs.
