Job Title: Staff Grade Psychologist

Are you a dedicated psychologist with a passion for delivering top-tier rehabilitation services? This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic interdisciplinary team within a specialist tertiary rehabilitation hospital. We are currently seeking two enthusiastic psychologists to play pivotal roles in providing psychological services to individuals recovering from complex acquired illnesses or injuries.


Role Overview

The Staff Grade Psychologists will contribute to the delivery of specialist psychological services across rehabilitative programmes, ensuring the highest standards of care and clinical practice. These positions are ideal for professionals eager to develop their skills in a hospital-based rehabilitation setting.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychological assessments, including psychometric evaluations, clinical interviews, and observations.
  • Develop and implement psychological intervention plans based on evidence-based frameworks.
  • Provide therapeutic support and psychoeducational interventions to patients and their families/carers.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and holistic patient care.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and produce timely reports in line with professional and organizational standards.
  • Stay informed on advancements in psychological practice, national policies, and relevant legislation.
  • Participate in research, audits, and teaching activities to contribute to service development and knowledge sharing.

Essential Criteria

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application:

  1. A recognised University Degree or Diploma obtained with first- or second-class honours, where Psychology was a major subject and honours were achieved in that subject.
  2. A recognised postgraduate professional qualification in psychology appropriate to the area of professional psychology in which the position is designated and graded.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability and clinical competence, for effectively carrying out the duties associated with this role.
  4. Proven experience in:
    • Administering psychometric tests.
    • Conducting clinical evaluations and making evidence-based recommendations.
    • Delivering interventions and drafting clinical reports.
  5. Research experience utilizing a variety of research methodologies.

Desirable Criteria

Candidates with the following experience and/or interests will have an advantage:

  • Administering neuropsychological tests.
  • Clinical work with patients and families affected by acquired brain injuries or physical disabilities.
  • Working within an interdisciplinary team in a hospital or rehabilitation setting.
  • Experience in rehabilitation psychology.
