Band 3 Clinic Co-Ordinator for a large public sector organisation based through the Belfast Trust

Location: Musgrave Park Hospital

Pay Per Hour: £11.67

Working Hours: 37.5

JOB SUMMARY/MAIN PURPOSE:

To be responsible and accountable for the organisation of a number of Orthopaedic, pre-operative assessment clinics ensuring adherence to IEAP to maintain maximum clinic capacity. To work as part of a team providing a high quality appointments service to patients and clinicians and ensure the provision of service between core hours.

MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use appropriate computer systems to ensure that all information is accurate and up-to-date, to include electronic booking of pre-operative assessment appointments
  • Deal with non-routine demands for appointments promptly and effectively
  • Action appropriate appointment details including specific departmental quality documentation
  • Manage the appointment lists on computer as defined by clinic scheduling rules
  • Deal with appointment queries from patients and/or their carers
  • Organising clerical tasks relating to the pre-operative assessment service
  • Ensure any outstanding medical investigation results are available in a timely manner and chase up any missing clinical information
  • Any other duties appropriate to the grade as may be assigned

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • 4 GCSEs at Grades A-C/9-4 including English Language (excluding English Literature) and Maths or equivalent/higher qualification AND 1 years' experience in a clerical/ administrative role

OR

  • NVQ Level II in Administration AND one year's experience in a clerical/administrative role

OR

  • Have 2 years' experience working in a clerical/administration role position

  • One years' experience working with computerised information systems e.g. PAS, BOIS or equivalent
