Childcare Manager - Mallow, Co. Cork

We are currently recruiting a Childcare Manager for a well-established early years and family support organisation based in Mallow, Co. Cork. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a genuine love of children, strong leadership skills, and a solid understanding of early years care, compliance, and team management.

⏰ Hours:

Full-time - 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Shifts between 8:00am and 5:00pm

💶 Salary:

€42,588 per annum, on a salary scale (with performance-based increments)

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day management of the childcare service, providing a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children aged 6 months to 12 years. You will lead a team of early years professionals, ensure regulatory compliance (TUSLA, POBAL, etc.), liaise with parents and external agencies, and manage resources and operations in line with national best practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of childcare staff

  • Ensure compliance with TUSLA, Department of Education, and Food Safety standards

  • Maintain a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children

  • Implement and review Aistear-based curriculum

  • Liaise with parents, families, and external agencies

  • Manage rosters, HR issues, and staff development

  • Assist with budget planning, funding applications, and reporting


Essential Requirements:

  • QQI Level 7 or 8 in Early Childhood Studies (Level 6 with strong experience may be considered)

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in childcare, with 3 in a management role

  • In-depth understanding of TUSLA, POBAL (ECCE, NCS, Core Funding), and the HIVE platform

  • Proven HR and team leadership experience

  • Familiarity with Child Protection and Safeguarding Guidelines


Desirable:

  • Experience working with a voluntary Board of Directors

  • Knowledge of Childcare Apps (e.g. Childspath)

  • Experience with children from diverse family backgrounds
