Job description

We are recruiting for a full time/temporary Band 6 data and Research Assistant to support our public sector client until initially March 2025. The post holder will support the development of the Regional Mental Health Service by providing a range of information and data analytics to review current commissioning, service delivery and inform service development.

Key Duties:

  • Review evidence and information available to support understanding of challenges, identify possible solutions and track the impacts of changes that have been made.
  • Work in partnership to identify relevant data sets and present data to facilitate performance reporting and service developments
  • Bring together data from a variety of sources and use information to develop insights into working practices, tailoring content to meet the needs of the audience.
  • Interpret data and highlight variation to support open discussion about where variation is and is not warranted
  • Provide direction to optimise dashboards and reports, including the design, development and modification of reporting-related solutions
  • Assist, where required on process, quality assurance and validation initiatives; the development and implementation of innovative solutions in line with developing business needs.

Experience:

  • A University degree or equivalent recognised qualification in a computer science discipline or a degree with a substantial computing/data management element AND 2 years relevant experience

(Relevant experience is providing or supporting reporting and management information systems in a business environment)

  • Experience in sourcing analysing, interpreting and reporting on data
  • Use of a range of tools to assist in the analysis including databases, spreadsheets
  • Experience in analysis, interpretation and investigation of data and the presentation of results in an appropriate manner with sound recommendations as necessary.
  • Ability to work as an effective member of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and to establish good professional relationships.
  • Ability to work accurately, demonstrate attention to detail, work on own initiative and prioritise and organise workload.
