Our Client, A Large Public Sector Organisation based in Coleraine require a Housekeeper/Cleaner to join their team.

Role : Housekeeper/Cleaner

Locations : Coleraine

Hours of work : 17hrs per week.

Hourly Rate : £11.98 per hr

Main Purpose of Post

  • To carry out cleaning duties within sports centres/leisure facilities ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and the provision of a safe environment for staff and visitors.
  • To adhere to daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules as directed, ensuring that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely and effective manner and that general confidentiality is maintained on all issues relating to the work of the Council.
  • The post holder will be required to positively support management and colleagues and assist in the provision of safe, customer focused service delivery.
  • The post holder will be required to work flexibly across and throughout the Council area, ensuring that resources are deployed effectively, in order to respond to service priorities and to facilitate professional development.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To carry out cleaning duties in all areas as directed and in accordance with cleaning schedules. This includes vacuuming, sweeping, washing and polishing the floors, emptying bins, dusting, cleaning glass areas, washing dishes from visitor/management meetings and assisting with any other cleaning-related duties as requested by management.
  • Ensure toilets are clean and hygienic and replenish consumables (eg: soap, toilet rolls, paper towels etc.).
  • Clear up spillages and polish/burnish floors as directed in accordance with the designated cleaning schedule.
  • Ensure that all cleaning equipment under your control is properly maintained.
  • To undertake wall washing or inside window pane cleaning to a height no greater than body height plus an arm's extension from floor level, during periodic cleaning maintenance programmes.
  • Report and record any defects on a daily basis ensuring that they are addressed in order to make the area or equipment safe for use.
  • Use and store chemical agents as directed by your line manager in the discharge of cleaning and/or maintenance procedures, after receiving proper instructions and training.
  • Ensure adherence with all statutory and legislative requirements and work in accordance with good governance and health and safety requirements.
  • Ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely and effective manner and that general confidentiality is maintained in all areas relating to your work and the work of the Council.
