Clerical Officer

Clerical Officer required for a large public sector organisation based through the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.

Location: Housing Centre, Adelaide Street.

Pay Per Hour: £12.40

Full Time / Part Time: Full Time

JOB SUMMARY/MAIN PURPOSE:

The Clerical Officer will undertake a wide variety of tasks with an element of discretion being applied to making decisions within a defined framework e.g. the presentation of information in tabular or descriptive form, answering queries on basic or associated tasks and seeking out more detailed information for approval for release by more senior staff. All routine and repetitive processes are governed by detailed written instructions.

MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Strong Telephone skills required. This role involves answering telephone calls and providing advice on phones.

Processes and procedures requiring a working knowledge of the section would be undertaken by the Clerical Officer. For industrial staff the work requires competence, co-ordination or skill with some demand for precision and proficiency in IT/ Microsoft Office.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

Less than 1 year of relevant experience*

DESIRABLE

Five GCSE's (including GCSE English Language and GCSE Maths (Grades A* - C) OR equivalent qualification to demonstrate literacy and numeracy OR Higher Qualification
