Retail Production Supervisor

Location: Co. Cavan
Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent
Hours: Approximately 2:00pm - 1:00am
Salary: €50,000 - €60,000 approx., depending on experience and suitability

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Retail Production Supervisor to join a growing food manufacturing operation in Co. Cavan.

A new retail production facility has recently been added to the existing factory, with plans to transition operations into the new facility in the near future. During the transition period, there will continue to be some evening retail production work for approximately the next 12 months.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced production professional to take on a key supervisory role within a busy, expanding operation.

The Role

The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day retail production, ensuring products are produced safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards, while meeting production schedules, labour targets and operational requirements.

You will be responsible for leading a sizeable operational team and working closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance and Management to ensure the smooth running of the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily retail production in line with production schedules and agreed targets.
• Lead, supervise and motivate a large operational team.
• Ensure high standards of food safety, hygiene, housekeeping and Health & Safety are maintained.
• Work closely with Production, Quality and Maintenance teams to resolve operational issues.
• Monitor labour, efficiency, yield, waste and other key production KPIs.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and improved line efficiencies.
• Support employee training, development and performance management.
• Promote a positive and professional working environment.
• Ensure company policies and procedures are consistently followed.
• Produce and review relevant production and performance reports.
• Support the introduction of new processes and technology as the operation develops.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience within the food manufacturing industry is essential.
• Previous experience in a production supervisory or management role is highly desirable.
• Strong people-management and communication skills.
• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and Health & Safety requirements.
• Organised, logical and capable of managing a busy production environment.
• Strong IT and reporting skills.
• A proactive approach to continuous improvement.
• Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond positively to change.
• Comfortable working evening/late shifts and leading a team in a fast-paced environment.
