Laboratory Technician - County Cavan

Our client, a leading manufacturing company, has a vacancy for a Laboratory Technician at their site in Co Cavan.

The company has been operating since the 1970's and they are an integral part of larger group. They are constantly evolving through technical innovation, and they are now at the forefront of providing pioneering, cost effective, construction solutions designed to meet the needs of any construction project.

The Role:

As a Laboratory Technician, you will be required to carry out a variety of duties including

• Receive, label, prepare, and test samples & incoming materials using established protocols and procedures
• Set up, calibrate, clean, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure accuracy.
• Carry out density, compressive strength, dimensional stability, thermal analysis etc, testing
• Log experiment data and test results into databases, prepare reports.
• Adhere to strict health and safety guidelines, follow chemical handling/ hazardous materials and PPE protocols, and maintain laboratory cleanliness.
• Report product failures or non-compliance immediately
• Assist in any trials or research and development activities.

Hours of work:

• Mon - Thurs 8am - 5.30pm and Fri 8am - 4pm
• 42hrs per week

Requirements for the successful Laboratory Technician:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing laboratory environment
• Experience with foam testing equipment and precision measurement tools.
• Proficiency with MS Office and data entry systems.
• Ability to spot minor variances in physical properties.
• Have a flexible working approach, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and work effectively in a team environment.
