€75,000 - €80,000 DOE

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join a growing engineering and infrastructure team delivering major water, wastewater, and utilities projects across Ireland.

This role offers the opportunity to lead mechanical engineering projects from design coordination and procurement through to installation, commissioning, and final handover. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will oversee all aspects of project delivery while driving performance across safety, quality, programme, and commercial targets.

The Role

As Mechanical Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of mechanical engineering and process installation projects while managing site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholder relationships.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, civil, process, and HSQE disciplines to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects from start to completion
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Oversee mechanical installations including pumps, pipework, valves, tanks, HVAC, and process equipment
  • Ensure Health & Safety, environmental, and quality standards are maintained across all project activities
  • Monitor project progress, programme delivery, risks, and commercial performance
  • Support procurement, budgeting, forecasting, and subcontractor management activities
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and key project stakeholders
  • Oversee testing, commissioning, and final handover processes
  • Conduct project meetings, toolbox talks, and progress reviews
  • Mentor engineers and site teams while promoting continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years' experience in a similar Project Management role
  • Strong experience delivering mechanical engineering or infrastructure projects
  • Experience within water, wastewater, utilities, or industrial sectors desirable
  • Good knowledge of mechanical systems, piping, and process equipment
  • Strong commercial and programme management awareness
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Project and MS Office packages
  • Full driving licence required
