Design Engineer | Hybrid | Kilkenny

DESIGN ENGINEER | KILKENNY/HYBRID | PERMANENT

We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer (Mech) to join our client's team in Kilkenny.

THE ROLE |

You will drive mechanical design projects across water and wastewater project sectors. You will work alongside multidisciplinary teams, engineers, and deliver innovative, sustainable solutions from concept to handover.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES|

• Carry out hydraulic design, calculations, and system analysis
• Select and specify equipment such as pumps, valves, mixers, and screens
• Review and approve engineering designs and technical documentation
• Act as technical lead across project life cycles
• Support client engagement and technical presentations
• Guide and mentor junior engineers
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, process, and drafting teams
• Assist with tender preparation and procurement specifications

REQUIREMENTS|

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Previous experience in mechanical design engineering
• Strong background/ knowledge in water/wastewater treatment projects
• Solid understanding of hydraulic design and system performance
• Experience with engineering design software and calculation tools
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Familiarity with relevant Irish/UK water industry standards
