Job description

Due to continued business success and growth we are looking to add a new member to our experienced finance team providing a clear career development pathway with study support available.

The Role

Working within the finance team, and supporting the Finance Manager, the trainee accountant will work across the finance function, gaining valuable experience and knowledge of the purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank reconciliations, payroll support, completion of finance reports and supporting with the preparation of management accounts. The successful candidate will:

  • Reconcile bank statements and provide support to accounts payable and receivable
  • Reconcile monthly customer rebates
  • Maintain the Asset Register control
  • Maintain accurate and organised financial records
  • Provide the finance lead with the accurate information and preparation of weekly financial reports for the senior management team
  • Support the finance lead with preparation of month-end and year-end processes
  • Cover the wages clerk and support them with payroll processes including relevant records and submissions when required
  • Provide support to the finance lead for the annual divisional budgets and forecasts
  • Accurately complete day-to-day accounting tasks within the finance team

Who we are looking for

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 1 years' experience in a finance role
  • Strong demonstrable working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Educated to a minimum of A-Level or equivalent e.g. L3 apprenticeship
  • Willingness to learn and committed to training to become a fully qualified accountant
  • Strong numerical and literacy skills
  • Strong attention to detail to produce accurate data and reports
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines
  • Able to work collaboratively within a team demonstrating strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Right to Work in the UK - we do not offer sponsorship visas

Desirable Criteria:

  • Part Qualified or currently working towards qualification for CIMA/ ACCA
