My client a leading public sector organisation based in Newtownards are looking for a full-time Capital Accounting Officer.

Hours: Monday-Froday, 9am-5pm

Pay: £12.86per hour

Job Purpose

  • Assist in the operation, maintenance and updating of the Trust's Fixed Asset Management System and physical verification of fixed assets.

  • Assist in the financial accounting of the Trust's capital assets and capital charges in accordance with Department of Health (D of H) guidance.

  • Assist in the delivery of an effective and efficient capital accounting service.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist in operating, maintaining and updating the Trust's Fixed Asset Management System in accordance with D of H guidance and ensure that all transactions are appropriately recorded and reconciled to the Trust's General Ledger, with all differences cleared, within the agreed timeframe.
  • Assist in the physical verification programme of the Trust's fixed assets, ensuring that all the fixed assets are appropriately accounted for in accordance with D of H guidance and Trust procedures.
  • Assist in the Trust's capital charges regime in accordance with D of H guidance.
  • To contribute to the development, implementation and communication of effective monitoring processes for the capital programme and ensure the Trust's senior management is provided with timely and accurate reports to provide assurance that the capital programme is controlled and will meet its targets or can take appropriate decisions to correct variances. Assist in the development, maintenance and communication of the Trust's capital and investment procedure manuals.

Essential Criteria

  1. An HNC/D (finance related) or equivalent

OR

NVQ level 3 plus 2 years suitable relevant experience in a finance department

OR

1 years' experience in a finance department

  1. Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of having worked with a range of stakeholders.

A thorough working knowledge of Microsoft office excel.
