My client a leading public sector organisation based in Belfast is currently seeking a Full-Time Storekeeper / Courier.
Hours: The hours of work will be 37.5 hpw: 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday
Pay: £12.31 per hour
**Applicant must hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment**
JOB SUMMARY
The post holder will be responsible for maintaining agreed stock levels within the Stores Department which include the provision of daily Pharmacy pack delivery to Station, Medical & Pharmaceutical stores, Stationery store, Fuel Stock, General equipment store and the Mobile Emergency Equipment Vehicle stock. He/she will be responsible for the ordering/receipting and issuing of stock according to Trust and Departmental policies and procedures and for providing a courier service within the Trust.
The post holder will be required to participate in a 7 day / 24 hour on call rota.
KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- To assist in the requisitioning, receipt, custody and issue of all stock items which are the responsibility of the Stores and Procurement Manager.
- To communicate with internal / external stakeholders in relation to issues such as supply & delivery and providing advice on procurement & supply issues.
- To assist in maintaining effective working relationships between the Stores Department and with internal / external stakeholders on all matters affecting the issue, receipt and custody of stock, re-order levels etc.
- To follow up orders with suppliers, obtaining prices, deliveries and non-delivery information, as required.
- To liaise directly with Pharmacy and with NIAS Senior Officers to comply with current legislation for the supply and delivery of Pharmacy Packs to stations / locations across the Trust.
- To provide a daily courier service as and when required to stations / locations across the Trust
- To assist in undertaking spot checks on stock items and annual stocktaking and report findings to the Stores and Procurement Manager, as required.
- To participate in emergency call-out operations in the Mobile Emergency Equipment vehicle in response to major incidents eg airport exercises and Out of Hours reporting issues for Estates & Pharmacy.
- To be responsible for the basic repair and maintenance of equipment and estate as appropriate to the post holder's role.
- To assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures applicable to the Stores Department.
- To be responsible for the signing out of equipment to staff / managers within agreed financial limits.
- To take all necessary steps to ensure security of stocks, adhering to appropriate procedures at all times.
- To maintain Stores information systems (manual and computerised) in respect of stock, non-stock and fuel.
14. To analyse data in relation to stock levels, orders, deliveries, receipts, lost/damaged items of stock, repairs or returns, expiry dates.
Essential Criteria
Experience of using Microsoft Office or equivalent systems |

Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) foundation stage or equivalent qualification and a minimum of one years' experience in a stores and/or distribution environment. OR 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and Maths or equivalent educational qualifications and a minimum of one years' experience in a stores and/or distribution environment. OR A minimum of two years' experience in a stores and/or distribution environment.

Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.
Currently hold a Category C1 driving licence OR present evidence of attainment of a Category C1 driving licence prior to commencement of the post.
Must participate in a 7 day/24 hour on call rota.
