💶 Salary Range: €42,000 - €46,000 (Depending on Experience)

About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Care Leader to join a growing and dynamic team at our residential centre in Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny. This new service provides trauma-informed care for young people seeking international protection. As a Social Care Leader, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality care, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment, and helping shape the service as it evolves.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the care team during shifts and support daily operations of the centre

• Mentor and guide Social Care Workers and Support Workers

• Ensure safe, child-centred care practices

• Conduct assessments and manage case documentation

• Advocate for the rights, welfare, and participation of young people

• Promote school, training, and healthcare engagement

• Liaise with families and external professionals

• Support team meetings and professional development

• Ensure compliance with HIQA National Standards and safeguarding protocols

Essential Requirements

• Minimum Level 7 qualification in Social Care or an equivalent field, eligible for CORU registration

• Relevant qualifications may include: Social Care Work, Psychology, Youth & Community Work, Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy, Disability Studies, etc.

• At least 2 years' experience in a social care role with children/young people in residential care

• CORU registration (or eligibility to apply)

• Full, clean manual driving licence (valid in Ireland)

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Knowledge of HIQA National Standards for Children's Residential Centres
