Basic Grade Psychologist

Full time post, 9-month contract, 37 hours per week and reporting to the Clinical Director

My client, a public healthcare provider is seeking a an experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist for their Dublin site.

The role will suit someone coming from a psychology background who have worked in Clinical or Counselling settings and have experience with managing caseloads, conducting research, and providing recovery-oriented clinical practices and therapeutic interventions to clients.

Key Duties:

• To liaise and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• To carry a caseload and perform the duties required as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
• To provide individual and group therapeutic interventions/strategies to patients/residents as required.
• To identify psychology needs in respect of patients and to develop proposals for the Clinical Director as to how these needs could be met.
• To plan discharge or transfer of the patient/resident between services as appropriate.

Essential Criteria:

• Must have a recognised third level degree (QQI level 8 equivalent) in Psychology and must be validated by both the department of health and Psychological Society of Ireland.
• Must have at least 1-year satisfactory post-graduate experience in professional psychology.
• Possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
