Job type: Permanent / Full-time
My client, a private social care provider supporting individuals and families in Galway who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, is currently seeking a Project Worker. The successful candidate will offer practical assistance and support to service users engaged with the organisation - helping them to find and secure suitable accommodation and, where appropriate, assisting them in addressing their health and care needs.
Key Duties:
- Help clients find and move into housing, including long-term homes, and support them in settling into their communities.
- Support clients in accessing local services like healthcare, welfare, training, education, and jobs.
- Give clients practical help and general support.
- Help clients connect with housing, health, welfare, education, training, and leisure services to become part of the community.
- Build trust with clients and manage problems calmly and fairly, following the organisation's policies.
- Manage difficult situations sensitively and according to the organisation's rules.
- Work in line with the National Quality Standards Framework (NQSF) for homeless services.
- Always follow the Child Protection Policy and the Children First Guidelines.
Essential Criteria:
- At least two years' experience collaborating with vulnerable communities.
- A recognised third-level qualification (minimum level 8) in social care or a related field, or CORU-registered social care worker.
- Full clean driver's license and access to own car.
- Understanding of homelessness and the complex needs of homeless families.
