Social Care Worker

Location: On site, Galway and Tuam areas

Job type: Permanent/full time/part time

Currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Social Care Worker to join our client's team based in a new residential unit in Galway City.

The ideal candidate will provide exceptional care for children and adults in residential care. Our client is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of children and adults who live with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviour.

Key duties:

• Take charge when the Service Manager is not available.
• Make sure the people supported are safe and well.
• Keep track of their progress following set procedures.
• Help build good relationships within the service.
• Support people to feel good about themselves and their uniqueness.
• Collaborate well with people who may have challenging behaviour and help conduct care plans for them.
• Look after the daily needs of the people living in the service.

Essential criteria:

• A professional degree (minimum level 7) in Applied Social Care.
• Previous experience collaborating with people with an intellectual disability or a similar field.
• Full current driving license.
