Social Care Worker

Location: On site - Sligo

Currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Social Care Worker to join our client's team based in a children's new residential unit in Sligo, Within walking distance to ATU Sligo and Sligo Town.

The ideal candidate will provide exceptional care for children in residential care. Our client is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of children who require a safe and supportive environment to grow and develop.

Key duties:

• Delivering hands-on care and support to children in residential settings
• Developing positive and trusting relationships with children, families, and key stakeholders
• Promoting a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for all children
• Motivating and assisting children in reaching their personal goals and aspirations
• Keeping detailed, accurate, and current records of each child's progress and development
• Actively participating in team meetings and contributing to the creation and review of care plans
• Always upholding all organizational policies and procedures

Essential criteria:

• Relevant qualification in Social Care or an equivalent field (e.g., Level 7/8 in Social Care, Level 8 in Psychology, Level 7 in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, Level 7 in Counselling, or a professional qualification in Youth and Community Work, Social Work, Social Sciences, Teaching, Nursing, or Addiction Studies where applicable)
• Experience working with children in residential care (preferred but not essential)
• Flexibility and willingness to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
