Do you have previous experience working as a Chemical Engineer?

There is a wonderful contract opportunity available for an experienced Chemical Engineer to work with our client within a rail infrastructure project environment in Dublin. Please note that this role is a one-year fixed-term contract.

THE ROLE |

The new team member will work in a busy and fast-paced rail or civils environment where there is an expansive portfolio of projects underway. As part of the Mechanical Engineers Division, you will support the Technical Manager and collaborate with various teams within the business throughout Ireland.

You will contribute to the performance of their portfolio of works, responsible for providing technical support, conducting failure investigations, and managing third-party laboratory analysis. To excel in this role, you will be a qualified Chemical Engineer. Having previous experience in a rail and civil engineering project environment would be desirable.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES|

• Direct Technical Investigations into failures for rolling stock where the performance of chemical lubricant or fuel is a factor.
• Keep up to date with the best industry practices and production methods.
• Provide technical support for the Mechanical Engineering department.
• Lead the procurement of specialist consultants/laboratories appointed to investigate or analyse.
• Function as the Technical point of contact between the company and third parties.
• Participate in change processes and the development of testing capabilities.

REQUIREMENTS |

Relevant degree level qualification in Chemical Engineering/ Chemical Science with a minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience.

Knowledge of failure investigation methods

Knowledge of safe handling of chemicals and oil sampling test

Knowledge of International Standards and Regulatory environments
