Our client, a leading manufacturing company in its field with a turnover of circa £100 million, who employ 360 direct employees, are seeking to recruit an Operations Manager to join their existing team at their site in Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh

The Role:

As the Operations Manager you will be responsible for all Production, Engineering, Maintenance, SHEQ on site. You will contribute towards the achievement of the company's strategic and operational targets and overall business aim, whilst ensuring reliability and consistency of operation through the development of people, plant and process.

Duties will include

  • Monitor and manage the production performance of the site against the budget through a set of agreed KPIs.
  • Drive efficiency's and standardisation of approaches, practices and reporting.
  • Develop a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement across the site.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, implementing lean manufacturing techniques and other efficiency initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of technological advancements and incorporate relevant innovations into the manufacturing process.
  • Identify opportunities, prepare business case rationale for business improvement projects
  • Ensure that all projects are managed and delivered on time and to budget.
  • Develop and manage budgets which incorporate all cost centres under area of responsibility and contribute to budget preparation and standardisation across the business.
  • Encourage a safety culture which promotes safe systems of work and continual adherence to the Company's policies and procedures

Requirements:

The successful Operations Manager must have

  • A degree or relevant qualification in Manufacturing/Operations/Business/Engineering
  • Minimum 5 year's experience in leading Operations teams in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record in heavy industry operations and manufacturing.
  • Experience of managing a large workforce
  • Lean qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced interpersonal, negotiation, communication and influencing skills
