Director of Nursing

Our client, a private healthcare provider based in Leinster is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to join their Nursing Home based in South Dublin.

The role will ideally suit qualified Nursing Managers who have held a similar job title in the past at director or assistant director level. The Director of Nursing will be accountable for all aspects of care and services to the residents both clinically and operationally, and will assume responsibility for the management of all staff within the nursing home.

Key Duties:

• Oversee daily operations of the nursing staff and ensure smooth workflow.
• Assign nursing shifts, delegate tasks, and manage staffing levels to meet resident needs.
• Address immediate staffing issues, absenteeism, or emergencies.
• Monitor resident care plans and ensure they are followed precisely
• Ensure all residents receive high-quality, person-centered care.
• Regularly audit care plans and nursing notes for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure full compliance with HIQA (Health Information and Quality Authority) standards and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, complaints, staff training, and resident care activities.
• Conduct regular risk assessments in the facility to identify hazards.
• Implement infection control protocols to prevent outbreaks and maintain hygiene.

Essential Criteria:

• Must be registered with NMBI (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland).
• Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience at a nursing management level.
• Must hold - Level 8 qualification in Management & Leadership in Health, or Level 9 qualification in any field that includes a Leadership module.
• Must provide details of any previous experience managing or operating a designated centre business.
