Clinical Nurse Manager 2 - Mental Health

Full time, permanent post, and reporting to the Director of Nursing.

My client is an independent not-for-profit hospital seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager (2), for their Dublin based in-patient mental health service.

The client provides a spectrum of neuropsychiatric services to adults with a range of serious and enduring mental health needs such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and Huntington's Diseases, as well as individuals with early onset dementias, schizophrenia, and mood disorders.

The role will suit someone coming from a mental health and nursing background who has good clinical nursing and management experience.

Key Duties:

• Provide a wide range of physical health monitoring and treatment services to residents.
• Monitor and manage residents with long-term conditions/chronic diseases in conjunction with the GP and MDT.
• Conduct vaccinations and immunisations for residents and staff as required by the service.
• Undertake screening, including, though not exhaustive, BP checks, height, weight, BMI, urinalysis, ECG, Spirometry, and new resident checks.
• Perform general nursing duties like, but not limited to, health promotion and education, Phlebotomy, Ear Irrigation, administering prescribed long-term medications/injections, etc.
• Participate in and deliver training and education relating to general health nurse monitoring.
• Develop and maintain physical health care plans collaboratively with residents, staff, and Multidisciplinary Teams, in accordance with policies.

Essential Criteria:

• Must be a Registered General Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the NMBI.
• At least 3 years post-registration nursing experience.
• Experience in Venepuncture/ Phlebotomy and ECG monitoring, and knowledge of primary care practice.
• Experience in the management of long-term conditions, e.g., COPD, diabetes, CHD, etc.
