CIVIL ENGINEER | OPERATIONS | PERMANENT | TULLAMORE/HYBRID |

Do you have previous experience working as a Civil Engineer within an Operations Team?

There is a wonderful permanent opportunity available for an experienced Engineer to work with our client within a waterway infrastructure project environment in Tullamore. Please note that this role has a hybrid working model.

THE ROLE |

The new team member will work in a busy and fast paced civils environment where there is an expansive portfolio of projects underway. As part of the Operations Management Department, you will support the Head of Department and work alongside various teams within the business in various locations throughout the Greater Dublin Area.

You will contribute to the performance of their portfolio of works, responsible for development of technical specification, supporting the procurement process and all technical aspects of the project ensuring that the project meets requirements. To excel in this role, you will be a qualified Engineer with a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with one years' experience of managing teams such as sub-contractors. Having previous experience in the understanding of the environmental issues involved in the development of waterways is desirable.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES|

  • Operational Management duties include supervising operational staff on site, carrying out risk assessments and safety inspections.
  • Management of contractors and specialist consultants appointed to ensure they fully deliver on their contractual obligations.
  • Ensure design decisions are made in line with project plans and potential risks are identified and managed.
  • Project Management duties include preparation and execution of project plans
  • Creation of Project Progression reports
  • Work and communicate with third party groups and authorities in development of the infrastructure

REQUIREMENTS |

  • Degree (2.2) level 8 qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 2 years' experience in the role of Engineer with 1 of these years managing operations construction sub-contractors
  • Hold a driving licence and access to transport, due to travel to site locations
  • An understanding of the technologies and environment associated with the development of waterways is desirable
  • CAD software knowledge
  • Ability to complete a Pre-Employment Medical
  • Ability to be part of the teams Emergency Response team providing out of office service on a rota basis. This duty will attract a separate remuneration of €4605 per annum

  • Base salary €38,914pa with annual salary increment
  • Hybrid working model of 3 days working from home
  • Pension
