The Opportunity and Company

Our client, a global security solutions provider is looking to recruit a Business Support Executive to their growing team. The ideal candidate will have the confidence and ability to work within an environment where they are happy to troubleshoot and work with field engineers along with an excellent working knowledge of managing spreadsheets and databases. Moreover, the successful candidate will have excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and fantastic problem-solving skills.

Main Tasks

  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide technical support to customers and engineers, troubleshoot issues with alarm systems, CCTV, access control, personal protection devices, and apps, and assist with remote system access and training.
  • Programming & Diagnostics: Program devices, conduct fault diagnostics, manage software integrations, and handle technical reporting, ensuring solutions align with customer specifications.
  • Customer Solutions & Product Management: Offer IT solutions tailored to customer needs, manage SIM usage and billing, upsell monitoring products, and facilitate seamless transfers from competitor systems to G4S platforms.
  • Financial Management & Reporting: Handle monthly and ad-hoc invoicing, reconcile supplier invoices, raise purchase orders, and collaborate with senior finance teams to present financial reports for the Alarm Receiving Centre, including money allocation and credit checks for new contracts.
  • Customer Relations & Billing Support: Assist customers with billing queries, work with credit control by securing payments and reviewing terms, setting up new customer contracts, including issuing welcome packs and managing bespoke billing.
  • Business Development & Retention: Work with business development teams to generate new business, complete PQQs and ITTs, and analyze competitor pricing to retain customers and provide insights for senior management.
  • Customer Relationship Management & Support: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and third parties, handle customer inquiries and complaints, and manage customer accounts, including contracts, billing, and invoicing.
  • Administrative & Departmental Support: Assist the Customer Support Manager in overseeing customer support processes for Monitoring Services, provide secretarial and administrative support to senior management, and participate in cross-departmental meetings and audits.
  • Team Training & Compliance: Train staff in customer support processes, ensure adherence toG4S policies and industry standards, and support sales retention efforts by identifying and acting on sales leads.

    Criteria

  • A CCTV SIA is required for this role if applicants don't possess a licence, they must be prepared to undergo a 4 day training course to obtain one.
  • A proven technical experience gained from either the alarm industry or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs including English and Maths at grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • Comprehensive IT skills including ability to use all Office / Google workspace applications such as spreadsheets and formulas are essential.
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills, these may be subject to testing as part of the interview process.
  • Excellent administration skills with a proven record in a business administration or technical services environment
