Job Title: Basic Grade Medical Scientist - Histology
Location: Dublin, Ireland
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

A leading hospital laboratory in Dublin is seeking a Basic Grade Medical Scientist - Histology to join their dynamic and supportive team. This is a permanent, full-time position offering excellent opportunities for professional growth in a quality-focused and accredited environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and assist in all aspects of routine histology laboratory processing and analysis.

  • Ensure testing is conducted in line with INAB and JCI Accreditation Standards.

  • Contribute to ongoing quality assurance and improvement activities.

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.

  • Provide support in the training and mentoring of staff as required.

  • Participate in data reporting and maintain accuracy using laboratory information systems.


Requirements:

  • Eligible for or current member of the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine (ACSLM) / CORU or an equivalent recognised body.

  • Minimum of 1 year of in-service training across all core laboratory disciplines.

  • Essential: Experience in Histology.

  • Highly Desirable: Experience in Cut Up procedures.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and time-management skills.

  • Comfortable adapting to new technologies and service developments.


Desirable Attributes:

  • Familiarity with laboratory accreditation standards, including INAB and JCI.

  • Understanding of health and safety regulations in laboratory environments.

  • Competent in using laboratory IT systems and data management tools.
