Yoga Instructor
Location: Comber Leisure Centre
Hours: Casual
Pay Rate: £39.90 per hour
The Role
As a Casual Yoga Coach, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and inclusive sessions within our leisure facilities. You will help create a welcoming environment where customers feel supported, motivated and confident to participate.
You may work with a wide range of participants, including children and young people, adults, older people, active ageing groups, school parties and specialist groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coach customers, including school parties, specialist groups and active ageing participants.
- Deliver safe, effective and enjoyable sessions within your area of expertise.
- Provide instruction on the safe and beneficial use of equipment where appropriate.
- Support and monitor customer development and progress.
- Develop and deliver lesson plans appropriate to the age, ability and needs of participants.
- Adapt sessions to meet the needs of individuals and groups, including those with additional needs.
- Ensure all activities are delivered in accordance with Council policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
- Promote equality, inclusion, health and safety throughout all activities.
- Maintain a professional and positive approach when working with customers and colleagues.
- Undertake other appropriate duties consistent with the nature of the role.
Essential Criteria:
- Membership of the relevant recognised coaching/professional body.
- An up-to-date qualification that allows you to coach independently in your chosen discipline.
- Relevant experience in the required coaching discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years' relevant coaching experience.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
- The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of customers, from young people to older adults.
- The ability to deliver inclusive sessions that meet different abilities and needs.
- Willingness to comply with Council policies and procedures.
- Consent to a pre-employment AccessNI check.
