Staffline Recruitment - Audiology Distractor

Staffline Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Audiology Distractor to join a community audiology service based in Dundalk.

The Role

This is a temporary position 3 days a week, supporting the Audiology team in providing patient-focused care to adults and children.

The successful candidate will work closely with Audiologists, particularly supporting children during hearing assessments and helping to ensure patients are comfortable throughout the assessment process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist children and parents at reception.
  • Support Audiologists with patient preparation for hearing assessments.
  • Assist with play audiometry.
  • Help to distract and settle children during hearing tests.
  • Assist during procedures including otoscopy, tympanometry and OAE testing.
  • Carry out administration relating to patient reception and correspondence.
  • Process reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare and restock treatment rooms.
  • Assist with stock control and management.
  • Use electronic patient management systems.
  • Follow health, safety, infection control and HSE procedures.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to service improvement and professional development.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • A relevant QQI/FETAC Level 5 Healthcare qualification, equivalent healthcare qualification, or relevant experience in an assistant healthcare/Audiology role.
  • Experience relevant to Audiology or a comparable healthcare environment.
  • Experience and confidence working with children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • A patient-focused and compassionate approach.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Good mobility, as the role involves working at a child's level and kneeling for parts of appointments.

  • Location: Dundalk, Co. Louth
  • Hours: 21 hours per week - 3 days
  • Contract: Temporary
  • Salary: DOE
  • Pension: Pensionable position
  • Transport: Access to appropriate transport is required for the role.
