Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: £15.83 per hour
About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised Engagement and Development Advisor (EO2) to join the People & Culture Branch at Newforge.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong administrative and coordination skills who is passionate about employee development, engagement, health and wellbeing. The successful candidate will provide high-quality support across a range of People & Culture activities, working closely with colleagues, managers, external providers and other key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
As an Engagement and Development Advisor, your duties will include:
- Supporting the development of employees by administering and managing the annual training needs exercise, including researching and engaging with external training providers while ensuring procurement guidelines are followed.
- Managing and responding to ad-hoc training requests across the organisation in a timely and effective manner.
- Producing regular analysis and management information for senior stakeholders on engagement and development-related matters, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records and statistics are maintained.
- Championing and contributing to employee engagement, health and wellbeing initiatives as part of the People & Culture strategy.
- Managing and advising on engagement and development-related queries, ensuring policies and procedures are followed and stakeholders receive a high-quality service.
- Developing engaging monthly and quarterly communications for staff covering health, wellbeing and staff development.
- Ensuring the timely processing and payment of invoices, working closely with the Finance Department.
- Facilitating student work placements and visiting workers, liaising with management, university personnel, student supervisors and individual students.
- Maintaining confidentiality, sensitivity and a strong duty of care at all times.
- Working collaboratively with the wider People & Culture Branch to ensure services are delivered consistently and to a high standard across all divisions.

Essential Criteria
Applicants must be able to demonstrate:
- Five GCSEs (or equivalent or higher), with at least two including English and Mathematics at Grade A*-C.
- At least one year's experience working in a fast-paced administrative environment, providing administrative support to a range of stakeholders.
- Experience of effectively managing a varied workload, meeting a range of objectives through a high level of coordination and communication with multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word, including relevant functions such as pivot tables to support reporting requirements.
