FPS Operations Manager
Hours of Work: 37.50 Hours Full-time, Fixed Working Patterns
Rate of pay: £19.78
Location: Franklin Street Belfast
Summary of Duties:
Family Practitioner Services is seeking an experienced Business Services / Payment Operations Manager to support the Senior Management Team in the delivery of high-quality payment, business and customer-facing services. The post holder will provide operational leadership, service improvement and management support, deputising for senior managers when required. The role involves working with internal teams and senior stakeholders across Health and Social Care to ensure effective, customer-focused services.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day management of FPS payment and business operations.
- Lead and contribute to service improvement, innovation and new service development.
- Manage and resolve complex queries relating to payment services, dental/ophthalmic claims and healthcare entitlements.
- Monitor quality, data accuracy, financial controls, risk and compliance.
- Support audits and ensure appropriate actions and improvements are implemented.
- Lead and contribute to projects, system developments, web portals and User Acceptance Testing.
- Mitigate financial risk by maintaining fit for purpose control environments.
- Analyse complex data and produce reports, statistics and KPI information for senior management.
- Develop effective working relationships with DoH, HSCB, PHA, FPS contractors and other key stakeholders.
- Support budget monitoring, payment accuracy and financial reporting.
- Lead, manage and develop staff, promoting a supportive, inclusive and high-performing team culture.
- Deputise for FPS Senior Managers and take ownership of defined projects and operational issues.
Essential Criteria
Applicants must have either:
- A) A degree/professional qualification in Business, Finance or IT, plus at least 2 years' relevant Payment, Finance or IT experience, including 1 year at management level;
OR
- B) At least 5 years' relevant Payment, Finance or IT experience, including 1 year at management level.
Management level is defined as Band 5 or above.
Applicants must also hold a full current UK driving licence and have access to a car on appointment.
