Pay Rate: £14.06

Hours: 34.5 hours

Duration: 3 Months

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an Emergency Medicine Patient Tracker to join the team at Antrim Area Hospital.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

  • Lead patient tracking to ensure attendances meet PFA targets, monitoring the patient journey from referral to diagnosis, treatment and outcome, and identifying delays.
  • Support the Emergency Department Team in delivering safe, timely, effective and high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain clear communication with the Sister and Consultant in Charge, escalating delays, risks, capacity issues and patient flow concerns promptly.
  • Maintain accurate, real-time information on the ED ICT system and proactively follow up investigation results and outstanding actions.
  • Maintain an overview of activity across Triage, Minors, Majors and Resuscitation, anticipating bottlenecks and supporting effective patient flow
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders regarding waiting times, delays, patient flow and follow-up arrangements with Primary Care.
  • Maintain confidentiality, dignity, privacy and information governance in accordance with Trust policies and statutory requirements.
  • Participate in Major Incident and contingency procedures, including implementing arrangements for ED administrative staff when required.
  • Undertake other duties appropriate to the responsibilities and grade of the post.

What We're Looking For

  • HNC/HND or equivalent/higher qualification in an administrative-related field, plus 2 years' experience in a clerical/administrative role; OR
  • 5 GCSEs at Grades A-C, including English Language and Mathematics, plus 3 years' experience in a clerical/administrative role.

In addition, applicants must have:

  • At least 1 years' experience using computerised information systems, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
