Hardware Refurbishment & Recycling Supervisor

Staffline Recruitment Ireland is seeking an experienced Hardware Refurbishment & Recycling Supervisor to join a growing organisation in Limerick. This is a full-time, permanent position.

The company specialises in secure IT asset management, data destruction, hardware refurbishment and responsible recycling. The successful candidate will join an established team and play a key role in developing and taking the hardware refurbishment and recycling department to the next level. This is a particularly interesting opportunity for someone who combines strong hands-on technical experience with the ability to think commercially, identify opportunities for improvement and take ownership of a growing operation.

About the Role

This is not a traditional desk-based supervisory position. The successful candidate will remain hands-on with the hardware, while also providing direction and support to the existing team and helping improve the overall operation.

Daily responsibilities include:

• Overseeing and supporting the day-to-day operation of the hardware refurbishment and recycling department;
• Working hands-on with desktops, laptops, servers and other IT hardware;
• Inspecting, testing, refurbishing and preparing equipment for reuse or resale;
• Diagnosing hardware faults and identifying equipment suitable for repair, parts recovery or recycling;
• Carrying out or overseeing secure data wiping and ensuring equipment is processed in line with data security requirements;
• Installing operating systems, configuring equipment and completing functional testing;
• Ensuring accurate recording and tracking of IT assets throughout the refurbishment process;
• Maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, security and compliance;
• Supporting and guiding the existing team of operators;
• Identifying opportunities to improve workflows, efficiency, quality and turnaround times;
• Helping develop processes and procedures as the department continues to grow;
• Working closely with the wider Operations Team to ensure customer requirements and deadlines are met;
• Considering the commercial potential of refurbished and recovered equipment and identifying opportunities to improve the value generated from incoming assets;
• Contributing ideas and practical solutions to help develop the department and its capabilities;
• Ensuring all Health & Safety, environmental and data security procedures are followed.

What We Are Looking For

• Several years' experience in IT hardware, electronics, refurbishment, recycling or IT asset recovery, with strong knowledge of computer hardware.
• Hands-on experience testing, repairing, refurbishing and configuring IT equipment, including secure data wiping/data destruction.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and a focus on quality and data security.
• Previous experience supervising, mentoring or leading a small team is advantageous, with a willingness to remain hands-on in the day-to-day operation.
• A commercial and strategic mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and the overall potential of the department.
• Proactive, organised and confident communicator who can work independently and effectively with both the technical team and wider management.
• A formal IT qualification is advantageous but not essential; relevant industry experience is highly valued.
