Project Manager (Biopharma & Food Sector)

Dublin | 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract | Competitive Salary

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a leading organisation supporting the growth and development of the Biopharma and Food sector in Ireland.

Reporting into senior divisional leadership, you will manage a portfolio of established multinational clients while identifying and delivering strategic growth, investment and transformation opportunities. This role combines client relationship management, project delivery, business development, stakeholder engagement, investment support and sector strategy execution.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership teams within major multinational organisations, supporting expansion initiatives, capital investment projects, R&D programmes, sustainability initiatives, training investments and digital transformation activities.

This position would suit professionals from backgrounds including Project Management, Life Sciences, Food Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Development, Operations Management, Economic Development or Strategic Account Management.

Salary: €83,113

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop relationships with key Biopharma and Food industry clients across Ireland and internationally.
  • Identify investment, expansion and transformation opportunities within existing client portfolios.
  • Support the delivery of sector growth strategies and business development objectives.
  • Develop and execute client engagement and account management plans.
  • Research, prepare and present investment proposals, business cases and strategic recommendations.
  • Lead projects focused on R&D, digitalisation, sustainability, operational excellence and workforce development.
  • Monitor industry trends, market developments and policy changes impacting the Life Sciences and Food sectors.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support client growth and investment decisions.
  • Represent the organisation at industry events, conferences, client meetings and trade missions.
  • Support the development of sector-specific value propositions and investment offerings.
  • Lead, motivate and develop team members while contributing to divisional objectives and performance targets.
  • Ensure effective project governance, reporting and stakeholder communication throughout project lifecycles.

Requirements

Essential

  • Degree (Level 8 or equivalent) in Business, Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, Food Science, Project Management or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in project management, business development, account management or a related commercial role.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience developing business cases, strategic proposals or investment recommendations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and influencing capabilities.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of complex business environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel when required.

Desirable

  • Experience within the Biopharma, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, Food Manufacturing or FMCG sectors.
  • Experience working with multinational organisations.
  • Knowledge of investment attraction, economic development or industrial strategy.
  • Experience supporting capital investment, R&D, sustainability or digital transformation projects.
  • Leadership or people management experience.
  • Relevant project management qualification (PMP, PRINCE2, APM or equivalent).
