Are you an experienced HR professional with strong employee relations skills and a hands-on approach to supporting a busy operational environment? We are looking for an experienced HR Manager to join a well-established organisation in Roscrea, Co. Tipperary. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity working as part of the site management team and wider Group HR function.

Organisation

Our client is a well-established Irish organisation operating within the food manufacturing and processing sector, with a strong presence across Ireland and an extensive operational workforce. The business places a strong emphasis on quality, safety, operational excellence and its people. The HR Manager will play a key role within the site management team, working closely with operational managers, supervisors, employees and site representatives. You will lead the local HR function while managing an HR support team covering HR administration, training and health & safety, ensuring effective people practices are embedded across the site.

Responsibilities

As an HR Manager, you will be responsible for managing and supporting the full HR agenda across the site. Your duties will include:

  • Managing site headcount, recruitment, onboarding and attendance management to ensure operational staffing requirements are met;
  • Providing day-to-day HR advice and support to managers and supervisors across employee relations, performance, probation, disciplinary and grievance matters;
  • Supporting employee engagement, communication and company culture, while building strong relationships with employees, managers and trade union representatives;
  • Overseeing training and development activities, identifying training needs and managing the site training budget;
  • Ensuring HR records, payroll/TMS systems, employee documentation and employment permits are accurately maintained and compliant;
  • Providing HR reporting and analysis on key people metrics, including headcount, starters, leavers, absence, overtime and other workforce data;
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Irish employment legislation and ensuring HR policies and practices are applied consistently across the site;
  • Working closely with site management, Health & Safety, Group HR and other stakeholders on HR projects, change management, continuous improvement and wider business initiatives.

Criteria

  • HR qualification or relevant third-level qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline;
  • Minimum 5 years' HR experience, including at least 3 years' experience at management level;
  • Experience working within a labour intensive, operational environment, ideally within manufacturing, food production, retail or a similar sector;
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience of employee relations, including disciplinary and grievance procedures;
  • Hands-on experience supporting managers and supervisors through HR processes and providing coaching and guidance;
  • This is an onsite role, and candidates must be comfortable working onsite Monday to Friday.
