Financial Reporting DP Accountant
Location: Newforge Lane
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours a week
Pay Rate: £24.59 per hour
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of financial reporting and management activities, including:
- Preparing Annual Reports and Accounts.
- Analysing financial data and providing high-quality financial information to support decision-making.
- Developing and implementing financial systems and processes.
- Providing advice, guidance and direction on budget management and in-year expenditure monitoring.
- Developing management accounting and financial performance reporting.
- Establishing and maintaining close and effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Maintaining a comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of public expenditure planning, monitoring, control and accountability systems.
- Leading, managing and motivating teams of staff, often working to tight deadlines and delivering high-quality financial information and guidance.
- Managing the resources of the relevant section.
- Supporting audit activity and maintaining effective internal controls.
Essential Criteria
Applicants must meet both of the following requirements:
- Applicants must have successfully completed their final professional examinations and be a full, current member of one of the following professional bodies:
- Chartered Accountants Ireland
- The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland
- The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales
- The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)
- The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
- The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA)
- The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland
- Applicants must have at least two years' post-qualification experience, gained within the last ten years, in a finance-related environment in one or more of the following areas:
- Financial planning and budgeting
- Financial accounting and/or auditing
- Management accounting and cost analysis
