Accounts Assistant

Location: Rathnew, Co. Wicklow

At Staffline Recruitment, we are recruiting for a Junior Accounts Assistant to join a busy and supportive office environment based in Rathnew, Co. Wicklow. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and detail-focused candidate who enjoys working in a fast-paced setting and collaborating with teams across the business.

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, the Accounts Assistant will support day-to-day finance operations, including invoice processing, customer and supplier queries, reconciliations, expense processing, reporting and month-end support. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams including sales, warehouse, management and suppliers to ensure accurate and timely completion of accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to customer queries relating to transactions, invoices and payments.
  • Receive, check, code and record invoices accurately.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and follow up on discrepancies.
  • File, scan and index invoices to support timely payment processing.
  • Support month-end and year-end deadlines by ensuring finance tasks are completed on time.
  • Resolve account queries promptly and escalate issues where required.
  • Complete monthly account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Process expenses and claims, ensuring VAT and cost coding are accurate.
  • Follow up on proof of delivery documentation and liaise with internal teams as needed.
  • Prepare and analyse reports to support business decision-making.
  • Provide ad hoc office and payroll processing support where required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a transactional finance or accounts support role.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to liaise at all levels.
  • Highly numerate with the ability to interpret financial data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Reliable, efficient and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
