Technical Trainer - Dundalk
Location: Dundalk
Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm | Friday 8:00am-3:00pm
Salary: €45K-€50K.
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading organisation within the building services sector, delivering innovative and sustainable solutions across Ireland, the UK, and Europe.
This role sits within a dynamic Learning & Development team and will play a key part in supporting workforce capability, safety, and technical excellence across operations.
The Role
As Technical Trainer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality technical and compliance training programmes. You will work closely with operational teams to identify skills gaps, enhance competency, and ensure full compliance with industry and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Training Delivery
- Deliver technical and compliance training (e.g. Manual Handling, Fire Safety, Working at Height, MEWPs, Forklift Operations, COSHH, etc.)
- Provide hands-on instruction on tools, equipment, and procedures
- Support onboarding programmes and refresher training across departments
Training Design & Development
- Develop training materials, SOPs, and technical guides
- Create competency frameworks, assessments, and skills checklists
- Implement blended learning approaches (classroom, practical & digital)
Compliance & Competency
- Assess employee competency through practical and formal methods
- Maintain training records, certification tracking, and compliance reports
- Ensure adherence to ROI health & safety legislation
Collaboration & Improvement
- Work with project teams, supervisors, and HSE to identify training needs
- Continuously improve training content and delivery methods
- Stay up to date with industry standards and best practices
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering technical or compliance training within construction, engineering, or manufacturing
- Recognised instructor qualification (e.g. ITSSAR, BRITTOp or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of health & safety and safe systems of work
- Experience creating training materials and structured learning programmes
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel
Desirable
- Experience within building services, mechanical or electrical sectors
- Familiarity with LMS platforms or digital learning tools
- Experience delivering training such as Manual Handling, Working at Height, or Forklift
- Knowledge of Irish construction safety standards
